Using USB-C to HDMI

We have tested, with success, the use of a USB-C expansion hub (with HDMI port) to display YouTube videos on a larger screen. The devices we used were the Anker 555 Hub and the Anker 341 Hub. We recommend the Hubs over the USBC-HDMI Adapter, Anker 518, because the Hubs allow the phone to be charged while the videos are playing on the TV/Monitor, whereas the adapter does not have charging capability.

In our case, we tested with a Samsung Galaxy S24 Smartphone. We connected the Anker 555 Hub to the USB-C charging port of the phone, and connected the HDMI port on the hub to our monitor. Next, the Smartphone automatically detected the connected monitor and turned on DeX Mode. Using DeX, we opened the Chrome App and navigated to FamTiVi.com. From there, we logged in and start the FamTiVi player with sheduled Topics. Once it started, I was able to lock the phone so noone could change the app on the monitor. To change channels, I simply unlocked the phone, and clicked on the Up and Down on the channel buttons. We had equal success with the Anker 518 Hub as well.
